Forge Company has opportunities for students pursuing an education and career
in the Industrial Maintenance fields. Fork
Truck Repair Interns will assist in the inspection, repair and maintenance of
the engine and mechanical components of a wide variety of diesel, gasoline and
natural gas-powered equipment and vehicles. Work from maintenance work orders,
parts manuals, service schedules, drawings, prints and instructions from Group
Leader and Supervisor. These projects could involve, but are not limited to,
any combination of the following work areas:

+ Diagnose
cause of equipment breakdowns and problems, test electrical circuits and
hydraulic pressures, performing repairs to manufacturer's specifications

+ Perform
component troubleshooting, including the ability to disassemble and rebuild
defective components such as cylinders, manifolds, pumps and motors.

+ Perform
scheduled preventive maintenance activities, check equipment function and
operation and recommend or perform required maintenance

+ Perform
operation test prior to repairs to verify complaint and performs final
operational test on all vehicles to quality-check all repairs prior to

+ Inspect,
maintain and repair aerial lift equipment to maintain the safety and
reliability of the unit.

+ Visually
inspect structural integrity of aerial lift equipment and report any

+ Perform
preventive maintenance and repairs to aerial devices in accordance with
manufacturer's and ANSI guidelines

+ Read
and interpret diagnostic trouble codes, manuals, drawings and specifications.

+ Ability
to assemble low and high pressure hydraulic hoses

+ Assist
in design and installation or relocation of equipment.

+ Perform
welding repair to manufacturer's guidelines, fabricate parts as needed to
complete repair including any design work

+ Maintain
accurate records of vehicle maintenance activities.

all duties in accordance with appropriate guidelines for hazardous and
non-hazardous waste disposal.

qualified candidate will be:

+ Currently enrolled in a 2 year
Associates or equivalent program pursuing a degree in;

Automated Manufacturing Systems Technology

+ Electro-Mechanical

+ Industrial
Mechanical Technician

+ Diesel
Equipment Technology

+ Welding/Maintenance &

+ Have completed their first year
of the associate degree (or equivalent) program.

+ Maintaining a grade point average
of 3.0 (B) or better

+ Good communication,
interpersonal, and computer skills.

+ Previous work experience in a
manufacturing environment is a plus.

+ Must be able to pass a90 dayhair drug screen and lift evaluation up to 65 lbs.
